What Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush did was appalling, in effect robbing Gore of the presidency, as the following manual recount established after the fact

The Times report contended that Republican operatives waged a county-by-county campaign to get election boards in GOP-heavy counties to accept late absentee ballots while arguing that Democratic counties should disregard such ballots

Speaking of sickos:
1) I heard news about a group of kids in a northeast state, which shall intentionally remain nameless, beating homeless people with pipes and bats as a "hobby/sport"; I forgot what they called this activity.
Isn't it enough that homeless people have to worry about freezing to death and not having a place to call home etc., without having to worry about being attacked for absolutely no reason.

2) A husband threw a live wire into the bath tub, after having taken his wife on a long walk etc.
He claimed in his defense that he wanted to save his marriage by giving her a near death experience and that it was connected to a GFCI outlet (designed to turn off the electricity when the wire came in contact with water).
However, when she tried to get out of the tub, he tried to push her back in.
Prosecutors said he wanted to kill his wife to start a new life with his new girlfriend/lover.

I could go on, but these were just two recent items.

LOL. Regarding the guy who tried to shock his wife to death, you'd think a divorce be less costly and messy...

coocooo

Thanks Justin42 for that story.

I don't think most of us will ever know ALL the facts related to Florida votes from the 2000 presidential election.
We may never know whether Bush should or should not have won, since:
1) who knows what went on behind the scenes with the election (any number of irregularities in favor of either candidate (not just Bush) could have occurred that may never be proven).

2) who knows which of the recounts / studies is the most accurate...

I won't repeat the information about Katherine Harris (and Jeb Bush); there are enough articles about it; I'll let you draw your own conclusions.
I will mention the following facts ;) :
- Katherine Harris was not only Florida's Secretary of State and in that regard the ultimate decision maker on voting rules and regulations but was also was Bush's state campaign chair.
- Jeb Bush was governor of Florida.
