the ring is for jennifer.
I found out after taxes it is going be $7090.38
I am considering flying to Portland and buy the ring there to avoid taxes. it would save me almost 300 dollars in taxes!
The ring is a 0.72Ct G, VS1, Round Brilliant. ($6550)
It is really pretty. and Jamie i am 23
CowboySlim the return is a 30 day return policy. I lose nothing if i return it. and Tiffany has no rebates :p

Well, Monte, I wish both the best of luck.
BTW, I was just kidding about the rebates and restocking fee.

Damn.. you're getting ripped! My dad and grandfather run a jewellery business, and if you're paying 6.5K$ on a VS1, I'll probably be able to get you a 1,1.5 ct. D or VVS1 piece!

There's no way you're 23. We've seen videos, read posts, and read about your job. You're not 23.

That he is. My wife's stone is .32ct, color H, VS1, round brilliant, and in a 18k white gold setting with platinum prongs. While I admit the jeweler was her brother-in-law's brother so we got settings at cost, and the stone is a different size and a bit different quality we paid less than 1/6th of that, and that price included a matching white gold wedding band of the same gold.
If he pays that price, he's getting ripped off.

1 thing, I'm in India
My dad's looking into this, he's estimating 97000 rupees (2100$ or so) for a 51 cent F colour VVS1 piece in a Tiffany setting.
Now, to work out how to get it to you

That you missed the point of what I said just further galvanizes my belief that you aren't 23. You may be 23 on paper, but up in the head, no way.

Got the $499.99 out the door Toshiba laptop at Best Buy this morning!!! Got there at 4:15 am and there was a line already. Luckily everyone was after the $199 eMachines desktop and I was still able to get a laptop. Gonna wait on the Minolta D-SLR until spring at least, the price is a little steep right now ($1600 body only). Besides, I already bought my Archos media player and I bought some upgrades (memory and a 512Mb thumb drive) for the laptop, now I have to buy for the rest of the family.

Well, I just got a new toy- my first digicam. It's a Canon Ixus 40, 4 MPixel, 300 Euros (the equivalent in North America seems to be the ELPH SD300). It's an early Christmas present for myself- I decided I need one when we visit my brother in B.C. shortly.

Am I the only one who got confused about your remark at the top of this page? I wasn't sure if you were asking Ian or Monte
(and the subsequent answers were mixed too...).

Slim was referring to Ian and the Plextor PX-716A.
BoGMan1a, what are the specs on that $500 Toshiba?

Toshiba M35X-S109
Intel Celeron M 330 @1.4Ghz
15" XGA Screen
256 MB PC2700 DDR (upgraded to 512 MB)
40 Gb HDD (want to upgrade to 80 Gb 5400 RPM w/16MB cache and use 40 Gb for Archos AV-320)
8x DVD-ROM/24x CD-RW combo drive (looking at NEC 6500)
Win XP Home
56k modem/ 10-100 ethernet
NO WIRELESS LAN
Overall, a great deal I think, but I am gonna end up spending another $300 for upgrades.

The two things I wouldn't mind getting soon are:
- a stand-alone DVD recorder
- a PVP (personal Videp Player - an iPod-sized device that can play video clips.
