It's funny... this sort of thing is pretty illegal as I understand it... but when I called Ritek USA up today, they were quite quick to admit to it when I mentioned it in passing.

Then again, most manufacturers of media have learned that trying to BS me is a good way to lose big sales :lol: and it appears that Ritek is trying VERY hard to make me happy again... I wonder why?

Yes, I always thought collusion of this type was completely illegal; then again maybe it doesn't apply in Taiwan?

It seems to apply in Japan... TDK had a huge class action lawsuit against them (which they lost) and ended up having to pay out millions of dollars to their distributors for doing pretty much the same thing but with Audio Cassette tape.
