possibly getting engaged

i know i have stayed away from talking about this for a while. But I thought I would bring it up.

So things between Jennifer & I are super. We recently went on vacation. I took my parents and her sister Kim along with us. To Southern CA to six flags and a new LDS temple in Newport Beach. As well as to the king tut exbit.
We had a lot of fun. And i surprised her with this...
We have a had a handful of talks where we talk about children and about where we would live.
So I am praying about it, and possibly going to ask her in mid Aug or Nov 11th

Newport Beach, Monte, oh no!

I wish you would have called me. That is the next town down the coast from me. I would have taken you all out for some Happy Meals!

The necklace looks great, but what happened to the $7000 diamond ring?
Is that yet to come?

What about a best man at the wedding? Will Hox do?

(just kidding)

So has Jen had a change of heart? Has she finally decided that she is ready for marriage.. and if so, with you?

Monte, I gotta give you credit. You must really like her (or be really obsessed). I would kicked her to the curb ages ago.

my only comment is...

"Possibly getting engaged" ?!?!

When you are buying gifts worth several thousand $$$, there should not be a question about this.

Do or do not, there is no try

Well, if you are giving her the $7,000 ring, I wouldn't suggest JamieW as the ring bearer.

I hope that you are not going to have the wedding in the church because I want to GO!

not a church, it would be inside a temple :)
most likely Oakland or San Diego

I knew that. Just a figure of speech.

Well, if it's a matter of conversion to the faith, I'll just have to skip it, then.
But if it's in the temple in San Diego, I'll host the dinner party at Tijuana Tilly's, just 30 min down the I5 and across the border. :P

I'll even host the open bar because that won't cost me anything. :^o

Guess that I'll have to go to Wal*Mart tomorrow and buy a tie.

Slim

That sounds more like Shuttle's launch window.

What happened to September/October ? Does Nov 11 have a special meaning ? Let me guess... B-Day ?

- In Canada: Remembrance Day (end of World War I)
- In Germany: start of Carnival (a silliness also known as a "5th season" in some parts of the country)
- In LDS ???

Ian: can we switch the boards to use vBulletin so we can have the "ignore" feature.

I woke up one day and wrote Nov 11th on my white board. I would prefer it to be the wedding day, but jennifer is going back to BYU for her last year, so i am not sure if that can work.

Gladly. Simply give your credit card information so that we may order our vbulletin license.

So it's $160 that's needed right? That shouldn't be too hard to raise, but are there other benefits then ignoring people?

I was only half serious. But, we have entertained the idea of switching to Vbulletin in the past, when we were having multiple hack attempts via the phpBB security flaws. We've since got that under control (knock on wood), so while I dread every time I hear of a new phpBB update, I also dread the work and time involved in migrating this relatively large forum to a different system.

If enough people want Vbulletin, maybe Ian will give the green light for accepting donations and switching over. Not my call.

Yes and no. We have 135000+ posts and 10000+ registered users, many of which have been around for a number of years. Personally, I wouldn't want my post count to start over at 0. :-?

Me neither! I've worked hard to get to my number 4 overall position on total posts... and it would be too easy if you, Dodecahedron, and Cfitz got sent back to zero
