Free copy of DivX Create Bundle - EXPIRED

For this week's post, I bring you a free copy of the DivX Create software bundle:

http://www.divx.com/anniversaryoffer/

The bundle includes the DivX Player, DivX Pro 6 codec and DivX Converter, so you can create your own DivX format movies. Suggested retail price = $19.99. Is it that big a deal? Probably not, but it is free!

UPDATE 2: The offer is now expired. If you tried to take advantage of the offer but didn't get a serial number, be patient. You may yet get one. Apparently their mail server got bogged down with the load and they are experiencing delays in sending all the serial numbers.

UPDATE 1:

The page is still accessible as I write this (Thursday, September 29, 9:20 AM EST), and it looks like it still works. Perhaps the offer is still on. However, I am out of junk email addresses and don't want to bother creating another, so I can't verify that it still works. If you have a throw-away email address, give it a try and see.

I just read the fine print (doh!) and saw that this free download does not include the MPEG2/DVD converter plug-in. If you want that you have to purchase it separately for $9.99. I knew there had to be a catch! :x

New words to live by: You get what you pay for. Or, rather, you don't get what you don't pay for. Oh well, at least it is/was free.

Thanks cfitz :D (good to see you here this week too). I'm not into divx, but if it's free- OK. I gave them my "half-baked" e-mail address and got the key right away. Let's see what else that brings.

Now that Opera and DivX have had specials like this, does anyone know when Nero/Ahead's round anniversary is?

Whoa!! You have the cash to take care of the "buy one" part of that deal?!? :o Apparently you've been holding out on us!

Anyway, if you are going down that route, why not go for an F22?

Still supported though. Too bad though, they're one of the best BVR-kill fighters, but their weaponry for doing so (AIM-54 Phoenix missile) is no longer manufactured either, unless someone starts up the production line again.

I still wish the USAF had picked up the Northrop F-20 Tigershark years ago. 56,100ft of climb per minute. :o

Additional favorites include the Saab Viggen, Saab Gripen, and the Mig-29 Fulcrum. Assuming you're talking semi-recent technology. And yes, I would have saved Pepsi points back in the day for a BaE Harrier if I thought they'd have given me one. :)
