That trick has been around for 100 years or more.
It's an excellent book too.
It's about the original escape from Devil's Island Prison.
It was also an excellent movie with Steve McQueen & Dustin Hoffman.
In the book the guys actually have specially made canisters to put money in so that they can 'hoop' it easier. And extract it, I gather.
