Yeah, MSDN subscribers should have the final build in like a week. I'm sure hox will have it tomorrow, if he doesn't have it already. #-o

LOL @ Ian and Hox!
Meh, I'm sticking with XP Pro. Works fine, I don't need DX10 or that stupid Aero yet.

I'll hold off buying it as well.

I liked what I saw with RC1 32bit.

But I will keep an ear out to see what others have to say about it.

I wonder what kind of antipiracy features MS has included with the product...

I don't like what I read here :

The only thing I really don't like is the DRM in Media Player 11. The rest of the stuff I could care less about as I always run legit copies of my OS's.

By extension of my work, I can legally run a VL version at home on my main system.

What with the divison among Windows versions this time however, I may purchase an academic (which I'm also legally entitled to use) copy of Ultimate if it becomes available, since I may only be legally entitled to use Vista Business or Enterprise under our current license. I may also consider a Microsoft Action Pack if the price is right.

I just purchased an OEM copy of XP MCE for family I'm building a system for, with the Vista upgrade coupon. We'll see how the coupon goes, as I'll be interested to find out whether it entitles them to Vista Premium (likely) or Vista Ultimate (unlikely, or possibly with an upgrade charge). It cost the same as the licensed version without the coupon, so I figured it's at least worth the try.

Yeah, under our campus agreement, I believe we have access to Business and Enterprise. Our school has a separate agreement though where we get access to pretty much everything.

I just wonder if they'll employ some kind of copy protection like the game developers have been doing for years. Or a crippling feature like disabling the optical drives.

I was wondering that after I posted the thread about getting tougher on piracy.
