Anyone else catch the trailer last night? No idea what the movie is supposed to be about but the animation looks good.

I cannot wait until the movie comes out. I have been waiting for a Simpsons movie for years.

I loved the end where Homer is swinging from the wrecking ball and he's caught between a rock and "A Hard Place".

SInce they have had a long time to put this together, my hope is that they will be able to capture some of the magic from years past, where almost every episode was great. The last few season have been very hit or miss for me. Still love the show though, the only network tv show I watch besides Lost.

You should watch Heroes. I love that show.

Go Hiro!

I would have prefered if they would make a "McBane" movie instead. In the Simpsons show they have an actor who is a parody of Arnold Schwarzenegger who plays the character of McBane in a series of movies. Over the years they have shown clips of these McBane movies and they're hilarious. I always wanted them to make a McBane movie even over a Simpsons movie.

First off, I can't believe the Simpsons is still making new episodes!
Longest running animation ever? not sure, haven't researched.

Second off, I can't believe they're FINALLY making a movie this far into the "life" of the series. I would not have expected it.
They really hyped the "premiere" of the movie trailer on Fox.
I remember seeing it in a few commercials.
Trailer looks ok, seems to be what I would expect from Simpsons humor.

Will I see it in the theaters? probably not.
Will I rent it or download it? Definitely! :-)

I also need to check out that Heroes, Dolphin already recommended it to me previously (/me runs to schedule recording on my DVR).

I think Heroes kind of sucks. I gave it a shot. Thought the premise was awesome. The production quality is half ass. How many powers have you actually seen? All the powers are low budget powers. The next power they introduce is going to be Light Flicker Man. And then they never do anything. We're like 7 shows in now and they do almost nothing during the show, then in the last 5 minutes, a few things happen which is what they showed you from the previous weeks preview. The show is all preview, dead air, and 5 minutes of hook. I feel like there's very little content. I've given up on it.

Its spelled "McBain" and it their is a move already called "McBain"

http://imdb.com/title/tt0102422/

this is why for some years they stop making the "McBain" shorts

I saw this today at the theater and it was awesome.

Unfortunately the theater was also packed with kids and a REALLY annoying woman that sat next to me...

I still managed to enjoy the show though. Anyone else see this yet?

I saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it!!!!

Alot of good jokes and typical Simpsons humor, as well as some very unexpected visual humor, like the one part of the skateboarding scene which completely took me off guard.

I agree with what Maggie said during the credits, "Sequel"

I saw it both Friday and Saturday, with a different group of friends each time. I thought it was great, though there were some slow parts to the movie.

WOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

This movie made lots of DOH this weekend!!!! :D

From CNN.com : http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movies/ ... index.html

"The Simpsons Movie" turned doughnuts into dollars over the weekend, raking in $71.9 million to debut as the top movie this week.

The big screen tale of the lovable, if dysfunctional, family rolled over the competition, sending last week's top movie, Universal Studio's "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," to second place with $19 million, a 44 percent drop.

Well, there's 2 movies that were released last Friday, the Simpson's movie and the Lindsay Lohan movie, "I know who killed me". I figured I should see the Lindsay Lohan movie first as the Simpsons's movie is big and it would stay for a few weeks, plus in the first few days it's going to be packed. I'm hoping to see I know who killed me tomorrow and the Simpson's movie next week. There was suppose to be a third movie out on the same day, Skinwalkers, but that has been pushed back to about August 3rd or 10th which is good as that would be too many movies I want to see released on the same day.

We saw this last night- first movie this year  (I guess we now belong to a somewhat more sedate generation...).

It was pretty good. Arnie made a credible president and I rather liked the Springfield anthem (even in German :D ). What happened to the pig in the end?

(who's off for 2 weeks in Bulgaria tomorrow)

I saw the movie tonite. It was pretty funny and stayed true to the Simpsons show. Thankfully, it wasn't as corny as the last few seasons.

Saw it Sunday. Loved it! Maggie rawks, but the movie needed more Apu! Oh well, there's always the sequel!

Saw it last week for 2 bucks at a local budget theater... Laughed out loud and was not alone... Probably will see it again this week with my oldest daughter. My wife, though, did not like it... but she does not like SpongeBob either... she's no fun at all.

I just saw the movie for a third time last night... oy, if one of my friends or groups of friends wants to go again, I'm just saying no! I found myself laughing before some of the jokes because I knew what was going to happen.
