Take the test and see how much of a nerd you are. (?)

Added 12/4/06:

Here's the automated version, which is only slightly different and returns a score and some other info.

I scored a 39, plus I'm giving myself a bonus point for posting my score.

43 for me, which is higher then I expected.

Too bad there were no questions about how early in life you began using computers/electronics  (at 1 years old, I think I would have had an edge :P )

I didn't start at 1, but I've been using computers for 42 years. (Now where have I seen that number before?)

your age is showing.
sometimes when i teach, and the final results of the calculation is 42, i say "of course, that was the answer that we expected at the outset, that is the answer" and the students have a blank stare on their faces... illiterate bastards...

I refused to take the test because those who put it up weren't nerdy enough to put in radio-button answer selection and automated test scoring. ;)

Um... how many points do I get for making an autoscoring system myself?

I kept losing count, so I copied and pasted into vim, deleted the ones I said yes to, and then did: "wc -l file", and substracted that number from 100...

That's got to count for at LEAST 1 or 2 bonus points I think...

It has been suggested that if you take the test and post your score, you may qualify for a bonus point, since such activity, by nature, could be considered that of a nerd.

Nope. I have the original ones from 2000 and 2001, incl. the R2D2 kit.
Which new one? The NXT?

Took the autoscoring test. It's a bit dated (lack of broadband/internet/ipv6 ;) that sort of thing), but...

Your Nerd Purity Test Results
You answered "yes" to 31 of 100 questions, making you 69.0% nerd pure; that is, you are 69.0% pure in the nerd domain (you have 31.0% nerd in you).
Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 12%, based on a comparison of your test results with 576688 other submissions for this test.

The average purity for this test is 73.8%.
The first submission for this test was received June 16, 1994.
