It's damn expensive but I'll probably buy one.

You gotta wonder what the actual cost of these things are if they're $500 and $600 with a two year agreement.

Regularly I change my Celular phone once a year, but the last a SonyEricsson S700i has no "better" option for some while, I was in a point to change it to a CyberShot phone, but now I can wait another 6 months though.

good to see its Quad Band GSM too.

It'll be available for about 30 minutes before somone has it unlocked, then about a month before everyother option is unlocked.

I have next to no interest in any apple products, but I have to admit this iPhone has me curious. Looks like it's the BluRay of Phone/Music technology :D

I never thought I'd be a big iPod user but I listen to mine a lot. I listen to podcasts and music on my way to and from work and have it with me when I'm not in my office.

The Zune hardware is pretty nice but Microsoft's implementation just sucks. Right now, I'm seriously considering SanDisk's new Wi-Fi enabled MP3 player, the Sansa Connect. That is, if its not all DRM'd to hell like the Zune.

I don't want any of those Apple or MSFT DRM'd nightmares.

I just have one of those little Sandisk Sansa jobbies and thinking of maybe a Creative with a bigger screen.

I load it from my PC with my old CDs ans stuff.
I also buy songs from MusicMatch which I then fix with Tunebite.
Alejandra, Los Tigres Del Norte y los otros Norten(squiggly)as sound real good on that little player. :D

When I'm driving around I listen to Sirius.

Same general topic, new stuff:

I don't know if they had booth babes showing this GPS unit at the CES,
but it came out yesterday and I ordered one.

So, if there are any outdoors types out there, this is the greatest GPS yet!
For that purpose, heads and shoulders above the others.

Now, if you want the kind that sucks off your windshield and talks to you and tells you what exit ramp to take to stop and get a Big Mac and a Slurpy, this isn't for you. [-X
For that kind, see Hox at Best Buy. :D

No joke, Ian.

I had an aunt that used to live in his town, less than two miles away.
Used to spend summers there.
Haven't been there an 50 years, but bet that I could find Wiz's straightaway.

Her address was 2941 Dakota Ave., SLP.
It was the first house north of Minnetonka Blvd., just after a grocery store on the NE corner.

How close is that Wiz?

Slim, who doesn't need no steekin' TomTom. :D

there's nothing WRONG with my Verbatim MP3 player.... except the lack of a random song option..., but for sound quality it's top of the line :D

I smell a lawsuit coming on since Linksys has had a product called the iPhone since 2005. :)

You'd think Apple wouldn't be quite so sloppy...

Apple can't be that stupid.
They must have been aware of the possibility and have contingencies in place.

Apple Sued Over iPhone Name

Associated Press
Thursday, January 11, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 10 -- Cisco Systems sued Apple in federal court Wednesday, saying Apple's new cellphone violates a trademark Cisco has held for six years.

Apple's defense is based on the grounds that no one gives a shit.

Note in the paper today that Cisco and Apple had been negotiating Apple's use of the name for a few years but that they had not come to agreement.

I guess that Apple figures that their legal costs will be less than license royalties.

Or they knew they'd never come to an agreement but figured announcing it as the "iPhone" will mean people will always CALL it the iPhone, even when it turns into the Apple PhonePod or something.
