Well, unless you live under a rock, you've heard about the I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis that occurred yesterday, being it made International News.

Link to the CNN Story: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/08/02/bridge ... index.html

The bridge carried 100,000 to 200,000 cars a day, according to MNDOT, and is a bridge that everyone has most likely been on, being that most people have gone to the University parts of Minneapolis at least once.

Thank god it wasn't the Washington Ave. Bridge, which has 2 levels of auto traffic, with a pedestrian walk-way on top, or the I-94 bridge, which is much longer, and at least 100 feet above the river.

It's a huge tragedy, I was pretty surprised to see it this morning. Glad to hear you weren't on the bridge when it happend though.... but I still feel sorry for all those who were! :(

Hey Wiz,

I was last there in 1961 and there was no I95.
I use to cross on the Franklin Ave bridge if I was going from Mpls SE to downtown or St. Louis Park. :D
