I was robbed!

So, I go out into my garage this morning and notice that the door was open. Great.. we left it open over night. Not the first time this has happened, but this time, someone came in and stole some stuff out of my car. I probably wouldn't have noticed, but they left the glove compartment and the center console open. Oddly enough, they left the iPod and took one of my snowboard coats and a pair of goggles. They also ignored the helmets and boots in the back, my gloves and whatever other stuff in the garage. wtf?

The only thing that makes sense to me is that some guy was walking around and was cold so he went looking for a coat. The guy should have taken the other coat in my car though, as its a lot warmer.

Similar thing happened to me awhile ago when I lived in an apartment. I went out to my car in the morning, and from a distance, I noticed something sitting on the trunk of my car. As I get closer, I realize it was the broken DSL modem I had sitting in my car waiting to be sent back to Covad.

After checking my car the tally came to:
Missing:
- Tennis racket
- The *data* cord for my 6 CD changer. This wasn't the in-dash kind. I was the kind that had it's own little LCD interface that got mounted to the dash however you wanted. The cable that connected the LCD interface to the actual changer was literally ripped out.

Received:
- a pack of Pop Ice
- Something that looked like a police radar detector. No power cable though.

Untouched:
- New winter jacket with price tag still on it
- A new credit card, still unsigned

The punchline is that when telling my family later about what happened, I mentioned I called the police about it, the first thing my mom said was: "Why'd you do that? What if whoever did it planted drugs in your car?!". #-o

So they left stuff in your car in return? That's funny.
