I'm thinking about ordering an ASUS Eee PC 1201N from Newegg. Since i really beat on my laptops, I'm also thinking about getting Newegg's Accidental Damage from Handling coverage. Does anyone have any experience with Newegg's extended warranty plans? If so, how has your experience been?

Never considered an extended warranty from a reseller. Have always felt the mfg should stand behind their product in any case. Check into it, Asus usually has something like a year of accidental coverage... at least they did with a couple lappies. The Asus Eee 1201N looks like a good one. I ended up with a Samsung N510 (ION LE) but was thinking about holding out for the 1201N.

I considered the Samsung N510 and HP Mini 311, but when I saw the dual core in the 1201N, I knew that was the one I wanted. I really don't need 9 hours of battery. 5 is fine with me.

Overall, I like the N510... It's nice to have the ability to swap the hard drive easily if needed (The Eee won't have that ability -- well, it won't be easy). I did buy my daughter an Eee 1005HA... Loaded with crap. Took me several hours to rid the system of it. In general, I hate laptops, but I like the netbook concept. the 11.6 screen is fine on the N510, but the 10.1 inch screen is too small... you will probably be happy with the 12.1 inch screen.on the 1201N.

I did pick up a Samsung SE-S084C to go along with it... Decent little bus powered ODD with boot support.
