My New Hobby

My youngest son is big into RC and after seeing him repeatedly destroy the toy cars sold Target, TRU, etc. we got him a hobby grade truck for Christmas. It's been a lot of fun seeing what a modern RC vehicle can do so, after being out of the hobby for 20+ years, I picked up a truck for myself.

My new wheels/tires, batteries and charger won't be here for a few days so I probably won't be able to drive it until this weekend. #-o

Looks like fun. I've always been amazed by the airplanes. Especially the ones with real jet engines!

I gave up on airplanes. I've crashed every one I've owned. I still have a bunch of helicopters. The largest of which is like 30" long. When it spins up, its kinda scary.

Jets are becoming more common. In the past you had to deal with nitro engines but now with brushless motors and lipo batteries, they're able to make some small, yet powerful ducted fans. I was thinking of getting one for pinewood derby this year.

RC... Takes me back to my youth. I have daughters now and have taken up photography the last several years and my eldest daughter is a basketball player. Played for a few travel teams. May do one more stint at travel this spring and summer. The choice is hers. Not my best photo... I had a long lens (70-200) and the action was a little close to me.

As you can probably tell by the pictures in my reviews, photography is not one of my strong points.

New wheels and tires for bashing around the house.

My battery charger still isn't here (damn you Fedex) but the battery I ordered had enough of a charge in it so that I could do some laps up and down the street.

That reminds me. I'm up to about 5 cars now and started racing this past summer.
