Just kidding, but my roommate did have several (!) eatten by his cat.
Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to crunching sounds, turning on the light, and seeing a decapaited guinea pig next to you pillow :o
Yuck!

Didn't say it to be mean; just stating a fact. And I made a mistake; they were hamsters, not guinea pigs..

And thinking about it for a sec:
guinea pigs=cat food, cats=dog food :)

You DONT want to know what some of my friends have done to cats...
Me, I don't mind cats TOO much...as long as they're cute :)

My appoligies to the animal lovers here...

Cool pic!!
About how I feel about Glock right now, too!
And remember, they weren't g.p's, they were hamsters...may bad...
I like the little fur balls...as long as they don't bite... :D

Sorry if anyone got offended by that; the pic just reminded me of my roommates mis-adventures with hamsters. The last three he had died (no, no cats involved). And the four before them by the cats. He's since given up on the hamsters. Me, I would'da ditched the stupid cat...give me a nice, big rott anyday...

cfitz, got a hi-res version of that pic?

sad about the hamsters too.

i don't think cats will eat/kill guinea pigs.
when i lived in a house with a graden and a lawn, i'd take them out to the lawn, they liked to eat the grass.
the neighbourhood cats would sometimes come close and stare (before i chased them away), but they never actually tried to touch them or harm them. i think a guinea pig is a bit too big for a cat to handle.
not that i would put it past them to try...

a hamster, on the other hand, is just up a cat's alley....

nice pic, cfitz!

sorry, jtan, it appears that your thread has been hijacked, thanks to me...

Yeah, I liked the one little furball...It'd just sit in your hand and let you hold it forever. It'd even sit on your shoulder, for a while...

Sorry glock20, I lifted the original from jtan's avatar, so that limited the resolution. I already magnified the photo, and further magnification without any additional real resolution will just result in larger blobs. :(

What is your new avatar?

Oh well...still, neat pic!

The new avatar is the Ruger logo. Glock doing some, um, "not good" things right now with costumer service, plus I just got a Ruger, and it's better than any Glock I've had. Now if I could change the sign-in name too...

I always admired the Ruger Mini-14. Do they still sell that?

Do you have the Ruger credit-card?

Image

It matches your new avatar! :)

What kind of shooting do you do? I've never owned a gun, but as a child I enjoyed plinking with my father and his antique .22 rifle and single-shot .22 target pistol. After I got older and did some investigating I decided we were lucky the rifle never blew up in our faces. A .22 long rimfire isn't exactly a hot round, but I found that rifle listed for sale in one of the antique (~1905) Sears catalog reproductions. I imagine it wasn't designed for modern smokeless loads...

I need one of those, preferably with no limit :)

Mostly I shoot handguns; I perfer the big bores. I have a .50AE Desert Eagle, a Ruger .454 Casull, and a Freedom Arms .475 Linebaugh. Plus I have a Glock .40 and 10mm; which I won't use until Glock gets their story straight on the recall thing; and my newest is a Ruger 9mm...

Me and a buddy once took an old 386 out to a field and burned about 100 rounds of .357 SIG ammo destorying it...quite fun! Seeing that other thread about the guy BBQ'ing a modem reminded me of it...
