Here's another Top 10 Post Count Graph. As seen last month, I cut off Ian, and this month I decided to cut off cfitz because he is way up there as well. Enjoy!

Well if you have your heart set on this, I'm sure you'll find a way to get the posts. The present trend says 9 Jan 2005 however.

Hmm, Only took until November 16th 2003. You sure that was 2005, LOL.

Once again, I bow to your superiority. Forgive me though, I have a life outside these forums, and I try to post mostly useful messages. :)

WHAT! You have a life? I thought one of the rules of being a CDRLabs regular was NOT having a life, LOL.

:)

More useful numbers.

I’ve enjoyed reading though this thread. (Better late than never!) So, I figured I’d share a few numbers I found interesting.

Total number of members: 6774 (as of this writing)
97.2% of the members are in the “Buffer Underrun” category.
Only 2.8% of the members have achieved the “CD-RW Thug” status (or better).
Only 1.7% of the members have become “CD-RW Players” (100+ posts.)
The median number of posts per member is 2.
47.4% of the members have a total of 1 or fewer posts.
20.8% of the members have never posted.

I guess the low median number is due to many members doing a “Hit and Run” (you post a problem, get your answer, and off you go), or just browsing.

I’ve done the "Hit and Run" at at a few boards. But, something about this one made me want to stick around. I would find myself at work wondering “Do more posts really make you smarter?” or saying “Man, I should have bought a Plextor!” This place is addictive!

Based on the low percentage of thugs, I can honestly say, “I’m proud to be a CD-RW Thug!” No, wait, not “proud”, I mean that I’m, Umm…, "happy", yeah, I’m happy to be a CD-RW Thug! (That’s OK, isn’t it? :))

i once browsed a few other forums (and actually posted statistics here in the Beer Garden).
these are actually rather low percentages. in most forums, the number of users with 1 post or less is quite a bit higher than 50%.

Well said Treemana.

I too was a lurker here for a long time. I found the Labs accidentally while googling for a driver review. Saw one from Ian, got impressed and sticked around. For me it's the people who make this board worthwhile.

Keep on posting and long live the Labs!

Actually, so was I. I think I found the link to CDRLabs from cdrfaq.org. I learned a lot, and I finally decided to join. I'm glad I did! :D

I found CDRLabs right after I found CDFreaks, and right before I found CDRinfo. I was looking for CDR information at the time, and have been fairly happy with the overall results of that search. I still don't read CD Freaks though.

I'll get a new prognosis and analysis up some time this week. Have to sharpen the literary muscles first.

That's interesting, the numbers were higher than I was expecting, but I didn't have a point of reference.

I was especially surprised by the number of users with zero posts (over 1400). I figured that most folks would remain a "guest" until they had something to say. (Although, maybe most of them do.)

Also, I neglected to post the mean number of posts per user, which was 12.1. So, some of you guys are carrying the rest of us! :D
