XJ-HD166S or XJ-HD165H

Is there a difference? The specs sheet is the same... If they're the same why the different name?

and what does:
"DVD-Multi ®, DVD-ROM" mean? the drive below (HD163D) just says DVD-ROM.
And what are:
"SMART-X, ABS mechanism"?

Info from http://www.jlms.com.tw/jlms.htm

Thanks.

this has already been discussed quite a few times.
search the forums.
search in the "DVD Recordable" forum (where the older posts are).

just type 165 AND 166 in the search window.

I thought I read something like this before, but when I couldn't find it in the DVD-ROM forum I just figured it must have been about two cd-rws or something.

Why are the older posts moved to the DVD Recordable forum? Or what does your above "where the older posts are" mean?

Thanks for the help.

there used to be only one forum for DVD matters.
Ian split it up (recenly) and now there are 2.
the vast majority of the posts from the old DVD forum are in the new DVD Recordable. that's why i told you to look there - Ian moved just a few of the most recend posts concerning DVD-ROM to the new DVD-ROM forum, so older posts about DVD-ROM are still in the new DVD Recordable forum.

hope that was clear.
