I have been looking for the XJ 166s in black, but have only come across the 166. What's the deal? Even on Newegg the drive is labled as XJ-166 in black.

I need help b/c I am itching to buy the drive, but don't want to get an older version or such.

It's the same drive.Lite-On drives are made by JLMS(Jvc Lite-on Manufacturing Systems) and the new firmware states XJ instead of LTD,kind of like when Datsun changed their name to Nissan.

Thanks for your input, I was just weary about not having that "s" at the end. I didn't know if it made a difference, but I guess not.
