PLEXTOR 708A slow burning?

have nice system:
Athlon 2.6 , 1GB of Ram 400 Mhz, Gigabyte dual Channel ddr Nforce 2 chipset mb, WD 10000 RPM SATA System Drive, Latest Nero
trying 2 burn on TDK DVD+R x4 media that is recognized by nero as 8x compatible, starting to burn is says 6-7 min remain an finally tames 30 mins, what can be the catch?
