Pioneer DVD-Rom's 120/120s/120sz/121....

What are the main differences of those Dvd-Roms?

Are there any DVD-R, DVD+R reading or Ripping speed performance differences or just the shape of the units.

Also is there a 121s drive?

Thank you...

I know the s means Slot..

120s and 120sz are slot in units but i dont know the performance differences.

Also 121 has tray loader but don't know the performance differences.

I believe all of the ones listed are fairly similar. With the difference being slot & tray loaders of course.

According to www.dfwdepot.com, the DVD-121S has the following improvements over the DVD-120S:
Quote:
    * Newly developed loading mechanism for increased reliability

    * New construction transverse mechanism, base chassis, disc clamper and thicker metal cover all contribute to lowering the acoustic noise and vibration levels

    * The drive length has been reduced to fall in line with the new industry standard 198mm

Based on the specs the performance is the same, but it's better made, making it quieter and more reliable. It may also support more disc formats. There are so many I didn't try to compare them all.
