Hi!

I had this drive 3 years ago and i can´t recommend it. It was in most cases söower than some 48x-drives, with some rercordable CD-R´s it was extremly slow.

Why don´t you buy a DVD-Rom like the AOpen 1648AAP? It´s much better for CD´s, too.

Thanks Gabe, i want the CD rom for an external CD player but i bought an Artec 56x (good CD rom), and yesterday I bought CD rom Sony CDU5211 for copies on the fly and it is a trash because is slow, noisly (like it ihas half a kilo of sand), boil the CDs and it is expensive. How Sony can sel this trash?
From Argentina I salute you and forgive my English.

Hi!

I´m German and my english is not the best, too.

The Sony CD-Rom is manufactured by LiteOn and not a good drive, i think the AOpen is still better.

Can you get other drives than the AOpen?

Fact is, that all good manufacturers stopped selling CD-Roms.
