alright i just got a lite on 197t need help

I dl firmware for it from codeguys.rpc1.org and there like 30 different ones in one file which one do i do i tried the 16x one but it did nothing my ripping speed is still only 2 using dvd shrink which is horrible any ideas.

Do you mean 167?
You don't need the hacked f/w,it's only for DVD-/+R.
Make sure DMA is enabled and rip with DVDDecrypter.

just load the latest firmware from here:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1825
and then use dvd decrypter to get the exact rip speed and not the KB/s like dvd shrink reports
but remember if the dvd is dual layer it won't get up to 16x
