Maybe you have already tried every CD-R available to you. Samsung SM-348B and LG GCC-4480B are infamous for their slower recording speeds with some 48x-rated media compared to the latest Lite-On 48x and 52x CD writers. If you have not, try other media.

Make sure you put the blank CD-R in your CD-RW drive, and disable "Hide CD-R Media" in CloneCD, Alchohol 120%, etc.

Is it easy to move threads to other forums? This does not belong here anymore. :D

Yes, they've already been moving some threads like this to the DVD-ROM forum. PM Matt or Ian and I'm sure they can do it.

Great!

Now SM-352B has another competition from LG: GCC-4520B.

Kennyshin,

Which of the two would you recommend based on those drives' features, and the quality of the two companies' previous optical drives?

Thanks

Both... :D

The differences are too insignificant to allow me to make such a decision. If I can get Samsung SM-352B for US$70, I'll buy one or two. If I can get LG GCC-4520B for US$70, I'll buy one or two.
