Win98 Dell Computer Doesn't Recognize cdrs in normal drive

I'm trying to troubleshoot a win98 pc w/ a single cd/dvd drive that is unable to recognize a particular homemade (i didn't make it though) cdr. It works on most other things like cdrs made from an .iso, dvds, cds and everything except this homemade cdr that seems to work just fine everywhere else.

So far I've tried the UDFreader thing and ASPI drivers but with no luck...any ideas?

thats a terrific question that had not occured to me, thanks! Is there any method of determining wether or not that is the case? I did not make the cd.

put it in a burner and see if you can write to it.

if you put the CD in your burner, and run Nero, click the medium info button, and (assuming it is a multisession CD) select the last session, if it is not closed there will be a couple of buttons in the window that let you close the session / finalize the CD.

i'm not sure however what would happen if this disc wasn't burned with Nero in the first place.

you can use Nero InfoTool -> Disc tab to see what program burned the CD.
