Backing up my DVD's?

I have never backed up any of my dvd"s, but would like to learn. I do have DVD X Copy Platitum, but it seems I have heard it might not be very good. I also have CloneDVD and dvd shrink. I would appreciate some of your input as to what might be the best product to use. Non of these products are installed yet.
I do have Roxio Creator 7 installed.

Thank-you for your help.

I use DVDDecrypter to rip,DVDShrink to compress DVD-9/10 and RecordNow Max(sometimes Nero) to burn.
I've never used the other transcoders but I'm very happy with the results of DVDShrink.
www.videohelp.com and www.doom9.org have some great guides.

When you burn a dvd movie, it always gets good quality if you dont compress it to much, and if you compress a movie you can only see the "bad" result by stop and zoom the movie and see the pixels.
Even if you compress a movie to 50 % the quality is better than svcd.
But how often do you use the zoom when watching a movie?
DVD shrink is one of the easiest software to use, with dvd decrypter and nero.
When other people say some dvd burning software is not good and so, it doesnt mean it gets very bad result, only its unstable and doesnt work fine.
