A friend of mine from the US has sent me a DVD they have burned from a VHS original but they have just copied everything over in a raw state and I would like to edit out some of the material I don't want. Is there an inexpensive software package that will let me edit the DVD and burn the results to a new disk?

I recommend Ulead VideoStudio and Womble MPEG Wizard. You can import the dvd titles via VideoStudio and then edit them with MPEGWiz. We find that VS has so many OOS (out of sync) issues that the Wiz does not. After you edit with the Wiz, you can then use VS to create another DVD. Or you could even use the DVD version of Wiz. ;)
