Anyone using DVDShrink on a Core 2 Duo?

Just wondering what kind of times you're getting.

With/without deep analysis? Adaptive error compensation?

Please list CPU & clock :)

I'll be getting either the 2.13GHz or 2.4GHz C2D in two weeks. I'll probably go with the 2.13Ghz, since Intel will be releasing quad cores this year, I'll be able to afford one early next year, and will jump once they get the clock up to at least 2.4Ghz...no since wasting money now.

I dont have a core 2 duo but I have a pretty damn fast Pentium D 930 system. I just did Resident Evil with deep analysis and sharp AEC and it took about 24 minutes start to finish. It was processing at 28 mb/sec on the analysis and at 7-10 mb/s on the transcoding. This was at 4.2 ghz , 2 gb ram running 1:1 (1120 mhz) both cores were at 100%.If I turn on the AC system I can overclock a little higher almost hitting 4.5 ghz but have to slow the memory down. Thats faster than my old AMD 3.2 ghz athlon running at 3.2 ghz could do without AEC or deep analysis.

Nice :)

It looks like the C2D @ 2.4GHz is ~= a 4.6Ghz P4 (going by the fact the 1.86GHz one is a bit faster than the 3.6Ghz PD 960), so it should kick some major butt :)

Lets see, C2D's are OC'ing like mad, so maybe try for 3.0GHz and see what happens 8)

yeah the c2d look to be great overclockers as well. I bought my system a few weeks before the conroe was released and couldnt wait for the conroe so I got all the parts that should have been compatible. My motherboard is an ASUS P5WD2 with the 975X chipset but not conroe compatible as it turned out. Everyone was speculating that it would be. Oh well this is plenty fast for me for quite a while.

Hmm...maybe I'll skip it altogether now.

Here I though the first quad-cores would be 2.13Ghz...but they'll be 2.66GHz.

Quad C2D's @ 2.66Ghz? Yeah, that'd be fast at DVD backup :o

And here someone's already got it up to 4.8GHz =P~ :o

Sure, it'll be an Extreme chip, and a cool grand...but damn, it'd actually be WORTH it.

Q4 launch...too wait or not, that is the question :)

Too bad there are no current mobo's that'd support it (since it'll probably use a 1333MHz FSB)

$1K...Q4...yeah, I can swing it...but I really don't want to wait. But then, it'd be really, really worth it.

Maybe I should grab the new case/PSU I wanted, and an Aquagate Mini and just wait (incredibly inpatiently) for Q4...
