DVDFab 3.0.5.0 - read errors

I recently downloaded the latest version of DVDFab 3.0.5.0 and started getting read errors while decrypting. I was offered the options of 'Retry', 'Abort', 'Ignore' or 'Ignore All'. (the disc was clean)

I was able to decrypt the movie but would have to select 'Retry' 5 to 10 times throughout the process and the read speed would be very slow.

The read errors occurred for every movie that I decrypted.

For testing purposes I put in "Monsters Inc" and it tried it with 3.0.5.0. - read errors occurred.

I reverted to version 3.0.2.5 and "Monsteres Inc" decrypted with no problem and no read errors.

DVD Drive - Liteon SOHW1693S Firmware KSOB
The drive works fine for all other functions including burning the movies that were eventually decrypted.

I am going to stick with 3.0.2.5 for the time being, but wondered if anyone else had similar problems?

I should have been more clear, Yes it is DVDFab Decrypter.

I used DVD Decrypter for the longest time, but ran into a couple of movies with the latest version of Sony copy protection. I screwed around with a couple of different programs that handled the settings for DVD Decrypter and then ended up using DVDFab Decrypter.

I am not really up on the best way of backing up DVD's. I had been using DVD Decrypter and an older version of DVD2one for a long time.

The 3.0.2.5 version worked for everything that I tried. I only updated to 3.0.5.0 because it was available. When it caused the problems I went back to 3.0.2.5

I googled 3.0.5.0 but nothing jumped out at me indicating anyone else was having problems.

I am unsure if the problem is happening to others or if there is something specific to my computer that is getting in the way

I've started using DVDFab Decrypter as well. It handles copy protections and is free.

I tried the newest release of DVDFab decrypter and the read error continues.

DVDFab Decrypter Ver 3.0.2.5 - works fine.
DVDFab Decrypter Ver 3.0.5.0 - read errors on all discs
DVDFab Decrypter Ver 3.0.8.0 - read errors on all discs

I can decrypt movies but have to sit there and babysit the process. If I select 'ignore all' there are errors in the files (causes DVD Shrink to hang). If I keep selecting 'retry' it will eventually decrypt the disc.

This is occurring with my Liteon SOHW 1693S Firmware KSOB. I am fairly sure that the drive is ok as it works correctly in every other way and no problems with ver. 3.0.2.5. I am guessing there is somekind of conflict with the newer versions of the DVDFab software and this particular drive.

I am considing a purchase of a Lite-On LH-20A1H. Thanks to Ian's review, I was able to see that it meets my needs fairly well.

My question is: Has anyone used DVDFab Decrypter Ver. 3.0.8.0 with the LH-20A1H? Did it work ok?

Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

Note: DVDidle refers its customers to cdfreaks forum. I searched for similar problems there and nothing jumped out at me.

I recently upgraded my secondary computer. Its now fast enough to burn DVD's. I put the drive in the other computer and all three versions of DVDFab Decrypter work with the drive, no problems.

The Computer that was having the problem has "Intel Application Accelerator" installed on it and I am starting to wonder if was causing the problem.

Nice! Glad to hear it's all working for you now.

It very well could have. I've read about IAA causing all types of problems for people, including read issues.
