I a m new to this so keep that in mind.

First of all, I have a large collection of home video tapes that I want to capture and burn as dvds.

I am not interested in taking the time to edit the tapes....I just want convert the analog tapes over to DVDs.

What is the cheapest hardwarde and software setup I can use? I have looked on ebay and they have no name video capture cards as cheap as $20.00.

I have read a bit about Avery Video products that burn onto DVDs in real time? Are they any good?

I do own a DV Camcorder.....How good would the quality be if I dubbed my video onto Minidv then uploaded it into the computer? then burned it.
(that seems to be the least exspensive option, but the most time consuming?)

Any suggestions....price is the most important consideration....and this burning in real time seems quite attractive.

Capturing DV-AVI(13GB/hr) via firewire produces better results than capturing analog.I would use the camcoder and connect it via firewire(firewire cards are $30),then use a program such as Ulead VideoStudio($100) or Nero Vision Express($80) to capture,convert,author and burn.
