I just returned my pixelview playtv XP tv/capture card..(couldn't get it work properly with XP PRO).

What card would you recommend? My main use will be to convert 3 hour football games on vhs to dvd. What is the best card for the money?

Some good external capture devices are:
Canopus ADVC100
DataVdeo DAC100
Plextor 402U series

The last one mentioned is a USB device,
The others are Firewire devices, which give a more stable performance, because of their interface,
The canopus has a locked audio feature, so the sync between audio and video will never be lost.
Expect with internal capture cards like All in wonder, some quality loss, the above have no quality loss, the Plextor model has onboard realtime MPEG encoding (MPEG4 & DivX also)
Checkout the companies web sites, Canopus has also Forums on it's website, for more information.
