NTI 6.5 bundled version mp3 burning problem

Whenever I burn mp3 onto a CD-R, every song either at the end or beginning get cut off by 3 or so seconds. I played with the settings and noticed that if I click on the checkbox to burn "on the fly" the last 5 seconds of each song gets cut off but the beginning of the song is ok. If I uncheck "on the fly" the first 2 seconds of each song at the beginning gets cut off but the ending of the song is ok. Anybody have any idea what is going on? I have the liteon ldw-411s

It sounds like NTI is not adding a 2 second "pre-gap" between songs,I recommend Nero or RecordNow Max for audio CD's.Try converting your MP3's to WAV first to see if the NTI converter is the problem, also go to www.ntius.com for an update.

pre-gaps?

Burningfool, thanks for your reply

Doesn't a 2 second pregap mean that 2 seconds of silence is inserted between tracks? But my problem is that the music is cutoff at the beginning and at the end. Even if there isn't a 2 second pregap. I would still be able to hear every bit of the music. There would be just no 2 second silent pause between tracks. Am I correct?

As far as converting to wav first, I think I was doing that when I chose not to burn on the fly, which resulted in the computer doing some pre-processing of the mp3's before burning.

I have been considering Nero or RecordNow. The main reason why I am hesitant is because both Nero and RecordNow don't list my cd burner(liteon ldw-411s) as a supported drive but NTI does list it as supported. My drive was released last Oct so its fairly new. Do you think Nero or RecordNow will work on my cd burner even though they dont list it. Maybe the lists just arent updated often.

I also forgot to mention that the NTI software was a bundle, not full version that came with my computer. I did use the software's update feature to check if there were any update and got a response that said No.

Yes but many players have problems when there's no pre-gap(pause),when I've selected no pre-gap some of my players cut off the last 2 seconds of each song.

so maybe thats the problem

NTI cd/dvd maker doesn't seem to have a pregap option. I used to use an older bundled version of Nero and it had a pregap option and its default was 2 seconds. You were even able to change the number of seconds for the pregap. The program worked great. The only reason why I'm not using nero anymore is becuz I bought a new computer and it came with NTI. I don't think I would of purchased this program if I had a choice.

you can install Nero on the new computer too. there shouldn't be any conflicts between the 2 programs.
then you can use whichever you like best.
