I have an mpg file I want to burn onto a DVD-R to play in my home DVD player. What's the best free way to do this without a watermark being inserted into my video? Any ideas?

If you have a copy of Nero, use NeroVision. There are a number of other packages from companies like Ulead that will do the same thing.

So you can't just go into Nero Burning ROM and tell it to burn it as something and have that work? I have Nero 6, but didn't install the Vision thing because I was having some conflicts with another program and I can't remember what it was. Are the Ulead programs free? Any other ideas?

I'll try the trial version of VideoStudio Plus tonight and see what happens.

Well, you can tell Nero to create a DVD-Video but you will need to use VOB files. Dragging and dropping an mpeg into the compilation won't work.

Nope Ulead not going to work either. They want my e-mail address and to sign up as a member. Anymore ideas? :o

WinDVD Creator looks promising. I only hope it wasn't so buggy. One evil look and bam, it crashes. #-o

E-mail is only an option - you don't have to enter it to download a trial version...

OK, I tried this program last night, but accidently checked the widescreen box and that was a mistake as the freakin' thing is now streched out.

This program converts and burns to DVD-R all in one shot (with a few processes of course though). The mpg file's aspect when viewed in Winamp shows as 352x240, so I'm guessing when I burn it again I need to pick an aspect ratio closest to that for my 32" TV (regular screen, HDTV). I only have two more chances on the trial version of this program. Any suggestions before I try it again tonight? Thanks.

EDIT: I used the trial version of Apollo MPEG To DVD Burner and it worked! It gives you 3 times to try it out, then you have to pay. I screwed up the first one, but the second worked.:)

Um, I just looked and I actually have WinDVD Creator within my copy of WinDVD I got free with something a while back. Oh well, I'll try it for my fourth mpg to DVD-R whenever that will be.;)
