What am I doing wrong?
Backing up Harry Potter 2

LiteOn 48246s both for read and write [ Can I/should I use my LO LTD-163 to read data, without any problems ? ]

CloneCD
ClonyXXL scans put up these settings:

x Overburn
x Bad Sectors

CCD Settings

x Regenerate Data Sectors
{Auto} Fast Error Skip
4x Read for Data and Audio
Medium Audio Extraction
8x write [ tried Max, no good]
x Amplify W.S. [Tried "not checked" also]
x Always Close Last Session

I get a copy that will install, but then I get this error:

Error in DF394B.tmp when I try to start program.

I have successful backups of GTA3, Mafia, MOHAA, using Clonyxxl presets,

What nuts-n'-bolts am I missing ??

Clonyxxl 2006 says Safe Disc V2 w/8 skulls
Clonyxxl 2011 says the same, w/5 skulls

Clone cd 4202

I thought I read somewhere that HP was SD2.8-something ?????
Also, the hide cdr is off or silver/green [ not checked when you right click tray icon]

Safedisk 2.80

Harry potter 2 is protected by Safedisk 2.80 .Some software like Alcohol120 , Blindwrite and few others can copy Safedisk 2.80 but clone cd can't .

http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.ph ... adid=42240

I think clone cd is still not able to copy it though you can select Safedisk 2.80 copying profile ( i ve seen too topics about this subject around the 10 january 2003 but they are in french language )
My advise : try alcohol 120 .

Of course you can use your LTD-163 for both copy and read .
I have used my LTD-166S with alcohol 120 to make BATTLE REALMS Safedisk 2.30 protected cd image . Burned copy ( matsushita 4X ) and it works . If you want only to use the the image with alcohol virtual cd , you must enable "safedisk emulation" in alcohol options else the image won't work .

Thank you,

Can the Alcohol 120 and CloneCD, and Roxio EC CD 5 Plat. live in peace on the same computer ?

I am pretty stupid, CloneCD sort'a did everything for me, very easy to run, do I need to get smarter if I get involved with Alcohol ?

yes, no reason they should'nt. go ahead.

it's the packet-writing software that don't coexist in harmony - InCD, DirectCD, DLA etc.

Alcohol 120 , a must try

Hum i don' t love much Clone CD , i don' t love at all Clony XXL . They don't fit with my hardware and my specifical needs ( too much rigid especially when your burner is not Clone Cd compatible but for many other reasons too ) .
In all cases Alcohol 120 is a must try ( try it to say you don't like it if you want but don't die without trying it  ) .
Alcohol120 is a burner software and a virtual cd software . It features multilanguage support , many known image files extensions ( .MDS , .CCD , .CUE , .ISO , .BWT and .CDI ) , it is easy to install and use ( just select the profile "safedisk" when burning ) .

I don't know any compatibilities issues between this software . Plus you'll perhaps chose to remove Clone CD from your computer .
I found EASY CD complex and uneasy to use since interface does not show clearly the programs utility and is confusing me . Plus by the pas i had issues with Direct Cd and issues with Easy Cd with his "browser" interface .

Thanks a lot guys,,,,

I am a CloneCD/Clony guy, they both seem to work well, up until now, And I can manage EC CD, but never really had anythiny else,
So,,,,,,,,, maybe I do not need to ever use CloneCD again ??

Maybe I will find out, as I am d-loading ALc. 120 demo now, that I do not need Clone anymore !!!

Does Alc. automatically detect the protection and set the settings or do you "manually" make all the settings ?

manually

No you have to select manually the profile "safedisk" ( down the screen ) .

ok,,,,

So, No matter what version of SD, the up-to-date Alcohol does it's thing if SD is selected ?

Since CloneCD may be on the way out with me, how about ClonyXXL ?
Is that still good program to use to determine "what" protection is used on a CD ?

And,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I just tried it with MOHAA,,,,,,, Which Clony says is SD 2.51, set Alcohol at Safedisc 2,,,,,,,,,,,, in Image making Wizard, set my burner as source, speed at Max, hit next, left it on default image destination, then hit "next",,, watched nothing but disc errors in window ????? So then I hit cancel,,, Ugh !

Add to that,,,,,,, I now have a Virtual Drive ?????????????What do I do with that ????

Is there a manual or readme, with step by step setup and run instructions ?

This is the "trial" version, would be happy to pay for full program,,,,,,,,, IF I can get it running !

Ugh !
