This is an interesting article:

Since Intel and Microsoft have pledged allegiance to HD-DVD, Hewlett-Packard has reconsidered, and has threatened that if Mandatory Managed Copy support and iHD interactive layer are not to be part of Blu-ray, it will change its official stance to neutral and begin supporting HD-DVD.

Sigh.. I see where HP is coming from, but they're acting like a bunch of babies. They really should have brought this up when they were working on the format. Implementing all that is just going to delay the release of the format. Then again, maybe that's what Microsoft wants.

Perhaps... but HP is not exactly the powerhouse company they were in years gone by. I think their support or lack there of means almost nothing.

HP is still selling boxes.

I wonder if Intel and Microsoft adjust the price of their products to get others to fall in line behind them?

I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Maybe MS has promised to know $5 off the Windows license or something.
