Here's a closer look. Is that a third USB connector on the back?

the drive connects to 360 via mini 5 pin usb cable, the other 2 are a usb hub

and the thing above the usb ports is a click in adapter for the wireless 360 adapter

According to Diggnation, the HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360 will cost only $100. That's a bargain!

If that pricing is correct, I think Sony and BD may be in trouble.

Except that MS themselves haven't released the price yet, and I have reason to believe they haven't even finished negotiating THEIR cost on the units yet...

Sony and BD are in big trouble already. :P Well, Sony especially when it comes to gaming consoles.

I don't know if Diggnation is correct, but even if they are in the vicinity price wise, that's still a great deal. The only other HD-DVD player on the market is the Toshiba HD-A1, and that is how much? $500?

Well, Sony has been in trouble for quite some time... however they're putting everything they have into making the PS3 and BluRay work, and I think it will pay off for them in the end.

The real winner in the console war will probably be the Nin-Wii, which is the least powerful, and only non-HiDef supporting console. But Nintendo is still the only console maker who manages to make the system profitable from day one, and usually has the most amount of actually fun games. Even more impressive is that the Nin-Wii will have two killer app titles at launch, both the new Zelda and the new Metroid. With a new Smash Brothers and a new Mario Brothers game coming out within 6 months.

You know, if Sony had the brains behind Nintendo working for them, MS and Nintendo wouldn't have a chance :o

all this console talk makes me reminisce and long for Sega...if only they had handled Saturn better, they might still be in the game.

Back to the reality of today, I think MS' online play feature is hard to top, though the Wii (horrible, horrible console name) will have game download capability out of the box with scores of old downloadable games available (Sega included!). It'll be interesting to see it all take shape. With Sony's poor track record of introducing new formats, the projected launching prices and high probability of supply problems, I have little faith in the future of BD or PS3.
