A Cost Analysis of Windows Vista Content Protection

I've had a number of people send me this article:

It seems that Vista is being blamed for the copy protections implemented by Blu-ray and HD DVD.

Wow... that is quite scary. I didn't realize Vista's DRM was THAT intrusive. I'm quite a bit more skeptical of Vista after reading that... :evil:

I don't know how much of that is actually Vista's fault. The 3rd party driver stuff is all part of Vista's new kernel security and I don't really have an issue with it. All that crap about downgrading video quality, that's part of AACS, which isn't really being enforced at the moment.
