HD DVD playback problems continue....

So what's with all these HD DVD playback issues lately?

It seems to be disc specific and not so much player specific, at least according to some of the reports I've read... although it seems certain players are more problamatic then others also.

I'd hate to be an HD DVD supporter right about now!

It doesn't seem to be a majority of people, but it's still a much larger amount of people then you would expect from a regular failure rate.

Couple possibilities jump to mind, could be related to the combo disc format, or some new copyright feature that's gone awry. I haven't seen if anyone has looked into firmware versions of set top players either.

Apparently Microsoft has released an update for the Xbox's HD DVD player. Has anyone heard if it fixed these problems?

If it does fix the problems, that is some darn quick response time from the Xbox 350 HD DVD team!
