Blu-ray Disc writers are still too expensive for most people so this is more a theoretical question than anything. With this in mind, if money were no object, what Blu-ray writer would you buy?

If any of them supports quality testing (other than transfer rate), that would be a prime candidate. From what I've learned from the ct reports, the criteria are a lot different for BR than for DVD (or HD-DVD), so this is sort of an unknown territory.

The 4x Panasonic for burning
The 4x Lite-On for media testing.

And since in this imaginary world I have infinite amounts of money, I would also like a private jet :P

Hm, I would wait for better and cheaper drives

And because Panasonic-drives were in the past mostly awful, I think I would go for a Pioneer or LG

I have a LG GGW20L as well. I bought a HD-DVD player first and quite a few movies while they were fighting it out so I wanted a combo drive that can do it all. Once I figured out how to disable properly the error checking it even burned the included BD-RW at 2x like it was supposed to.
I have made a few disk that actually play fine on several bd-player I have tried with it so as soon as the media reaches less then stupid prices I might actually use it ;)
