Sony Offers HD DVD Trade In Program In Switzerland

Sony is offering Swiss HD DVD player owners a trade in deal. If they buy a BDP-S500 or BDP-S300 and trade in an HD DVD player they get 200 Swiss Francs and six free Blu-ray movies.

Have you purchased an HD DVD player in Switzerland before the end of February 2008? Sony offers then the exchange for a Blu-ray from Sony. Sony is also responsible for the recovery and recycling professionals HD DVD players sent.

Here's how: You buy a new player BDP-S500-S300 BOP or before the end of March 2008, and you return at the same time your HD DVD player for us, we dedicated retraining. You make an exchange premium of CHF 200 .- and we offer you in six films today engraved on a Blu-ray disc: the trilogies "Spiderman" and "Pirates of the Caribbean".

You can receive your premium exchange very simply: Download the proper premium for the exchange (PDF form) and fill it completely.

200 Swiss Francs is ~ $191. Amazon Germany is selling the 300 for $626, the 500 for $1190. Amazon USA is selling the 300 for $399, the 500 for $999. IMO, Sony is taking consumers HD players and selling them BD players at North American prices, which I guess is at least something :roll: .

Just another great way for them to completely bury HD DVD and ensure you buy only BD movies. They're still making a killing profit wise and eliminating any possibility of getting the fire sale hd movies, or anyone deciding to make any for a small market later on.
