LG BH08LS20 Not Recognised

Hi

Did not want My first post to be a question, but I am stumped.

My computer will not always recognise My LG BH08LS20 after start up or reboot.

Windows XP PRO, Service Pack 3, Intel Quad core 6600.

On the odd time it is recognised, I can burn Blu-Ray video out of Corel Video Studio X2 or Premiere Elements 8.

When it is recognised it sometimes comes up as a MMC/Compact flash card?

If I try to copy from DVD rom to the LG using Record Now Max it hangs the comp.

When I first installed the drive it was on a E5200 dual core, obviously not fast enough, hence the upgrade, one of the faults turned out to be a duff SATA cable, replaced.

Hope there is enough info here lol.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Regards.

Peter.

Hmm.. makes me think it might be another bad cable or maybe a weak power supply.

Is it identified correctly in the BIOS? Are you using 3rd party SATA drivers (nvidia, etc)?

I'm not surprised that Record Now Max hangs your computer. That program is ancient.

Hi

Identified correctly in the bios, 650 Watt power supply, ancient program but it does everything I,ve wanted to do before & will still copy etc using a Pioneer DVR215.

I need a modern program I suppose, but not Nero.

Just restarted & LG appears in device manager.

Regards.
