Buy recommendation for a new Blu-ray Writer
Posted: Wed Sep 12, 2012 10:16 pmI'm searching for a replacement for my missing Pioneer BDR-206, should I simply take the 207 or is there something better to buy?
It's been years since I've looked at one of Pioneer's BD writers but they've always been pretty solid. I can't imagine the 207 being any different. You're only other options are Lite-On and LG at this point.
Lite-On's BD writers haven't changed much over the last few years and at this point they are pretty polished. Not to mention, they're really affordable. LG has continued to push the envelope with faster speeds and support for BD XL formats. They don't release a lot of firmware updates though but they too are really affordable.
