Wow.. I don't know if I should be more surprised that they're releasing a firmware for an older model or that LG released an update at all.

Wow, they make great stuff but usually any updates are few and far between once released. Think my comboHD/BD got a few updates at first but nothing in a few years. Guess I need a newer faster burner anyways when toy money becomes available. Hope they decide to start making more frequent updates of all their various new burners.

There isn't a lot, if any, new media being made so there's not really any need for an update, unless there are problems.

Well that's certainly true but they didn't update their drives often when everyone was making media either, but at least they usually worked well outa the box. It's just not the same as it was when we all were buying the latest fast burner that had good burn quality ajnd trying to find the best media to use with them.
I don't really burn anything anymore ande use big drives and media players to watch videos and listen to music on, works great and I don't keep making piles of disks to try and store.

We should hopefully be seeing a firmware update when M-DISC Blu-rays are finally released. Supposedly its soon...

there was another firmware update released for the WH14NS40 on 04/10/2014.
New firmware (ver. 1.03-A0 for only WH14NS40(SUPER MULTI BLUE BLU-RAY)

Looks like the BH16NS40 also got some updates since last mentioned in this thread.
