Budman I didn't find anything regarding HD BURN at B's Gold website either. On the installation disc it gave their website address as a place to go regarding it, but nothing. And the light was unlit on HD BURN under B's Gold, so it's useless. The fact that I was able to use it once and didn't make any changes to my computer hardware or settings of any sort rules out other computer hardware as a problem. Hopefully Optorite is working on this. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow I will contact AccuPC and let them know I have a problem. At this point I don't think getting another drive will change anything.

Budman,

Here's what I did. I opened up Nero .35 to the cd iso template. I then dragged a .99 gig vob to the cd. The resultant cd and vob file was read and playable on the Optorite. It was not read by other dvd drives. The media was Khypermedia cds. I have noticed that the drive has difficulty with Princo media that my Sony DRU500a does not. Could this be a media issue?

Yea jon i tried that as with video cd etc, actually all listed, used memorex, imatation and some chessy 90 min cd-r's, still no luck, as with nero's database on that problem there first cause is media, i'll dig thru my old stuff and see if i can find some other brand and try, also accupc said burn at the slowest speed i can get

The only thing about my system that I can think of is that it is a fairly new install of xp professional. Therefore, it doesn't have alot of software install. It basically has FlaskMPEG.78, divx codec, Nero, and DVDDecryptor.

Esquire, I've only done one because I mainly got the drive for dvds. It was only out of curiousity and the comments in this forum that I tried the hd burn. If you like, I can try more and let you know the results. What would you like to see?

No real thoughts other than media or operating system (dlls, etc.) related since it seems to work on my system. If you can, place your audio files in a location where I can access them and I will try to burn a cd. If it works, then I'll send the cd back to you. At least that way we can demonstrate whether it works or not.

Dear users in the forum,

I am with OptoRite technical support. It has come to our attention that some users on this forum are having problem with the HD-BURN feature. I am here to clarify these issues and hopefuly answer all of your questions.

As you know, HD-BURN is a brand new technology, there are still room for improvement. Your feedback and help will be appreciated. Right now, OptoRite is working hard to improve the media compatibility. We will post a list of tested and supported media on our website when the test is completed. As new firmware are released, the list will also be periodically updated. Currently Taiyo Yuden 972401 795972 media is supported. It is usually sold as FUJIFILM CD-R in the USA. Hitachi 972529 795974, Acer 972267 795974 are also supported. Some users here have success with other brand of media. If we could all share this information here, it would be really helpful. Thank you.
