Tomorrow I'll get the Nu Tech DDW-081. Now my question, which is the best firmware at the moment? I know there is a firmware that supports DVD-R. But it isn't the best I have heard or is there a new one? Who has this burner and is able to tell me which is the best firmware?
Next question: The firmware for the Nu Tech DDW-082 I can't use, or?

you can use the B373 firmware from the DDW-082 without any problems

Are there any more errors in comparison to the original firmware?
Is the B373 firmware better than the B375?

I herad the rumor that it would possibly be able to burn double layer DVDs with this burner in the future, but there isn't any firmware there, yet. But the laser should be strong enough. Who had herad anything about that?

So, now I got my Nu Tech. It's realy good. Just in the moment I burned a 4x Ricoh DVD+R with 8x which works. Is this normal? Does this work or should I burn only witch 4x when the DVD is 4x?

Next question. Could it be, that the burner needs a lot of energy? Because when I built in the burner in my pc and startet them, my pc rebooted by using the drive. As I removed my other DVD drive I had no problems anymore. Do I use more than 300W?

you can burn your ricoh 4x without any problems at 8x speed.

to your 2nd question:
you need to install an hardware energy monitor to see how much power you really consume.

It's a good Idea to check my pc with an hardware energy monitor.
But in the moment I have no problems anymore.
Today I added my normal DVD drive again and now there are no problems.

I also use B375 and used B373 before that its great with +R media and so so on -R media , i have not made coaster with any +R yet ricohR01 and mcc002 4x both burn wonderfully at 8x . I have not had whole lot lot of luck with -R i did try a ritek G05 nero gave me the 8x option nu tech burned it at 6x and it was coaster. I burned a optodisc R004 4x at 4x and it was not coaster. I have some tyg01 4x but i have not tested it yet.

oh also , I have liteon 832s i just burned mkm001 2.4x DL disk and set the booktype to DVD-ROM the nu tech 082 could not read this or even detect it.

Ok, today I`ll test firmware B375 because I'll burn CD-RW 24x. Has anybody experience about burning CD-RW 24x?

The B373 is more stable then the B375 but less media support.

There's a B376 in the works, no release date yet.

To my experience:

B375 is better as long as you do not write DVD-R discs at 6x or 8x.
