1) which specific function of Norton Ghost

2) to back up an external hard disk

can I just use the following

a) for RAM disk , just drag and drop from hard disk into RAM ?

b) for DVD R, use Nero back it up function

..USE " new drive back up "

Aren't these all software questions? There's a Nero forum here.

An external hard drive is probably a better too to do this than optical discs. I view my WD 120 GB external drive as "cheap data insurance."

On a side note, Norton Ghost sucks. Not the program, the program is great, but it's usage is very limited for backup purposes. All it does is a perfect image of your hard drive. Suppose that you have 80GB occupied, and you can compress it to 40GB. Unless you have another hard drive, it still takes 9-10 DVDs or around 60 CDs. That's crazy. Also, with most people, the contents of the hard drive changes rapidly (new installs, downloads, uninstalls), so a Ghost image may become useless within a week.
