Are Ritek DVD+R good in general? I know their DVD-R are great becuase ive used them before. I checked newegg and they have what appear to be good deals, wondering if any of them are worth it. Sorry if this is a noobish question but i havent bought dvd blanks in a while since i purchased 2x 50 packs of the branded G04 media. Should i just go with more G04 DVD-R?

RIDATA 8X DVD+R 4.7G 100 Pack Cakebox, Model DRD+478-RDCB100 $57

RIDATA 8X DVD-R 4.7G 100 Pack Cakebox, Model DVD-478-RDCB100 $56.50

RIDATA 4X DVD+R 4.7GB, Model DRD+474-RDCB100, OEM $44.50

Also would like suggestions on a good DVD-/+RW Disc for lite backup storage. Tried a Sony back about a year ago with the DVR-106 and it didnt go to well.

Ritek G04 media isn't bad when you get the good ones... not too great when you get the bad ones. However, G04 is getting harder and harder to find since the M02 has replaced it for the most part now. I don't think any more G04 discs have been made in quite some time. However, I've received multiple contradictory reports from various people within Ritek on that...

Personally, I haven't been impressed with most of Ritek's 8x media.... but some people seem to love it.

Ritek's 4x media is a lot better than their 8x media, the Ritek R03's I have are only average or so. With that being said, I'd recomend the 4x media by a long shot.

Ritek 4x +R is often RICOHJPNR01, which is usually great media.

I bought one of those RiDATA 100 4x DVD+R and it is the RICHOJPN. I can't test my burns as I don't have a DVD-ROM and Nero Quality utility doesn't support the NEC drives or maybe the NEC drive doesn't have error reporting.

So far I've written to 30 or more Disc with 0 coasters written at 6x. Some have reported writing to them at 8x with a 2500. I'm sure with Herrie's fw I could do it as well.

My local Office max is selling RIDATA 100 spindles for $69 on clearnce.

For a while Newegg was offereing those disc at $31, 41-10 rebate=$31.

For 3 dollars more then Newegg ($49 for 100 free ground) Supermediastore seems to guarantee (in that they give the media ID as RicohJPNR01) that their Ridata are Ricohs.
