Never going to happen for SL DVD+R discs.
Automatically sets DVD+R DL discs to DVD-ROM.

I don't know... many people said that same about LG, and we are seeing a switch on that now, as bitsetting becomes more requested. Even NEC is slowly moving towards bitsetting for SL DVD+Rs. I don't think it's COMPLETELY out of the questions that Pioneer might start supporting bitsetting, but for the moment yes, it is completely impossible for a user to enable.

I know what you meant, and I gave you the correct answer.

NEC is NOT moving towards bitsetting for SL DVD+R discs.
THe ONLY reason there is an NEC SL bitsetting firmware is because one of their OEM customers requested it. (MadDog).
I don't think SL bitsetting will ever happen on Pioneer drives.

Not sure, but the HP OEM will likely also have bitsetting, since the last one did

NO, the TDK firmwares do not support SL bitsetting.
It is not yet know IF HP will even rebadge an NEC 3500A...
If so, yes we can expect another SL bitsetting firmware.
