I bet it makes their media REALLY cheap for a while though (until they go bankrupt :roll:

David Lu, the former chairman of Infodisc, insisted that the company submitted the valid documents, including certification of its investment in the fund, to the TSE to justify its overseas investment. Lu also stated that the capital was remitted from the company’s account at the Singapore branch of the Netherlands-based Robobank, although he has not presented the remittance documents.

He probably submitted the documents on one of their CD-RW discs. That would explain how they went missing... :lol:

Yeah, their CD-Rs and even more so their CD-RWs have a pretty bad reputation. I wonder if the company will survive this whole fiasco?

If I started my own company called PhoenixDisc, would you buy my products? (Even if all they were were calculators?

And some CD/DVD replicating plants also do it: Americ Disc, and Optidisc (not to be confused with Optodisc!).

Note that the funds in question went to the Cayman Islands. That is where those who want to loot the company treasury to line their own pockets put the funds as an intermediate location.

But is Infodisc actually making any recordable discs nowadays? I thought that part of Infodisc is now Infomedia:

So was that NT $ (New Taiwan dollars) or US $.

I figure it was Tiawan, so it's about $76 Million US (if I worked it out, too many 0's).

I could have a lot of fun with $76 Million US.

To change the MID code would have required all drive makers to add it to their firmwares so they probably didn't think it was worth it. If you check Philips list here you'll see:
MID code INFODISC type A10: Manufactured by Infomedia Inc.
