I went to rpc1.org and although I found firmware, it didn't come with any revision history or stuff like that. Is there a place where I can see what a particular firmware is supposed to fix??
Specifically firmware A208 for the LG GSA-4082.
I ask because I don't want to take the risk of flashing if it only fixes a tiny little bug that I won't encounter.

You can find information about LG GSA-4082B firmware updates A204, A206 and A207 on LG's support websites through http://www.lgservice.com, but A208 is not an official update from LG, it comes through an OEM, Melco

A204 - Improves compatibility with some DVD-ROMs.
A206 - Improves compatibility with 8x DVD-R media.
A207 - Enhanced recording speed for Ultran's DVD-R 4X (code:ONIDTECH)

For information about A208 you can navigate through Melco's pages and try to find someone to translate them to English or you should be able to make some sense of what's written.
