Ciryadin, Any help would be well received.

There seems to be a bug in the loader when it comes to windows xp sp2 it wont work. I have tried everything. Two of my friends had to down grade to xp sp1 to load it. I seem to remember back when B375 was released reading something about it not working on xp sp2 beta either. It would seem it still does not with official release. I think I will have to take my drive out and over to my friends or to work to get it to flash this is a real pain.

PS:
It does not seem to matter what interface your using USB 1394 or IDE.
also safe mode is no help. and as there is no dos flasher or bin this is no help either. #-o

I also sent an email to nu-usa so they would know about it also.

Finally a stable DVD-R writing firmware. =D>
I could never write to any DVD-R before. Just tested it out on a couple of "crap" Princo that someone gave me and it burns and play perfectly fine in my Pioneer, NEC 3500, Liteon 166S and standalone player.

NU is not alone with that problem :p

Official pioneer DVR-A08XLA 1.14 firmware would not update on my intel computer with XP SP2.

Had to move it to another computer and flash it.

Maybe I should find the old NU drive back and install it to see if it works at my computer :p

Seem its not just on sp2 , I have since tried on my friends pc he has sp1 and it would not update on this either. His nu tech updated fine so there is something else happening, its very odd as B375 loaded back in May fine and also it has run fine on pc burned media and all, but now it seems no nu flasher will load onto it not even the B370 the original fw it came with. I guess im stuck with it at B375 unless nu tech can have an idea.

Although It does not explain what happened with the flasher and my drive I had a friend hack flasher to disable drive check and it flashed fine. I have done some tests and seems to burn + and -R fine. not a clue why the official flasher could not find my drive.

KenW,

I have no idea what is going wrong in your situation, but i relayed your info on the drive check option to the firmware creators and we'll see what we can find about the subject.

I took a couple stock drives and flashed them on WinXP Pro SP2 without a hitch.
Only thing i noticed as did my college for NU-America that the drive doesn't auto reboot you will have to do that yourself.

Ciryadin:

Thank you for looking into this, another nu tech 082 owner on cd freaks forum related that the only way he got his to flash was to take it to a pc with win98se on it and plug it in that. It could be random thing maybe related to some microsoft security patch or other drive software interaction, what ever it is, I am glad nu tech will look into it.

PS:

My drive when i flashed it in the external encloser over firewire didnt reboot either I had to power off the encloser once the drive light went out after the flash then reboot the pc and then power on encloser and it was detected right away as having updated to B377 so i did get it to work but as I said with a hacked flasher with drive detection check removed.

I upgrade my DDW-082 to B377 and the drive not recognise CD-R / CD-rw.
I flashed back to B375 but no sucess. #-o

I read in another foruns about other people with similar problems.

ANYONE HAD A CLUE about that problem ??

PS. The drive read, write and rewrite dvds at normal conditions.

HELP! [-o<
